An still increasing number of Eastern Europeans are stranded in Denmark in the streets. projekt UDENFOR has gone into collaboration with a line of organizations and established a relief shelter for Eastern Europeans.
Many Eastern Europeans come here to find work and to seek their happiness, but not everyone find all this and further everyone does not take the consequence and go back to their home country. This means that these people have to live in the streets and manage the best way possible. Many of them are in Denmark illegally, and the authorities will not provide them with the simplest social assistance.
This is the main reason why we, in collaboration with the other organizations behind ‘hjemløsedagen’*, have established a relief shelter. The relief shelter opened January 28th 2008 in the evening at 11 o’clock.

*"Hjemløsedagen" means “The day for the homeless people”. Every year we have an arrangement in the city centre of Copenhagen where homeless people and other citizens can take part and listen to speeches about homelessness, to music, taste some food etc. Every year this takes place October the 17th.
