330 people participated in the annual FEANTSA-conference in Copenhagen

The rows of seats were well filled up when the FEANTSA in cooperation with  the project UDENFOR and the SAND held a conference on participation on October 23^rd. 330 professionals, Government officials NGO’s and homeless people from 22 different countries participated in the conference.

- I think we succeeded very well by showing what participation can be. It is our experience that people both from Denmark and from abroad have been very responsive, says Ninna Hoegh, secretariate director.

Many accepted the offer of field visits.

The day before about 120 of the participants in the conference had joined one of the ten offered visits at different places and meetings with exposed and homeless people. The participants found the offer to see a different kind of habitations especially interesting.

In this way the foreign participant got an insight into the work which is done in Denmark for and together with the homeless and exposed people.

- From the Danish quarter we can be proud of the good starting point for participation which the Danish legislation gives. From now on it depends on the organizations to carry it on. There is still room left for that, thinks Ninna Hoegh.
